Regional Stake Conference

I had the opportunity to attend the Regional Stake Conference live at the Marriot Center on BYU Campus. It was such a great conference and I loved being able to listen to these amazing speakers and to be surround by Young Adults my age, there was such a unity and the feeling of the Spirit flowed throughout the room.

Our first speaker was Steven F Snow:
The need for us to Remember is vital for us to progress throughout Eternity. Throughout the Book of Mormon we see examples of the need to remember. We also have monuments to help us remember that which is most important Such as Seagulls, Pioneers, ect. We are also required to do certain things to remember the Lord in our lives such as scripture study, prayer, attending the temple, partaking of the sacrament. We must have our own spiritual awakening to strengthen our testimonies. We need to sustain our spiritual strength. In Alma 5:26 "And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?"   Our testimonies must be constantly fed through spiritual experiences to remember. Also we need to constantly renew our testimonies. The Holy Ghost can manifest to us what we should do. The Spirit helps us to become sanctified, these promptings can help us grow and progress. Let us remember the sacrifices of those that have sown us the way.

Julie B Beck-Relief Society General President:
We're doing better than we think we are. We also aren't doing as well as we could be doing. If we were to call upon our faith we would do better. This kind of faith can cause miracles and change. The Spirit is the key in knowing the mind and will of our Heavenly Father. We don't need to be discouraged or fearful when we trust in our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. If we prioritize correctly, than we will be aligned with the Lord, we can have full confidence in His promises. We wanted this mortal experience, so we need to make the best of that choice of fighting on our Lord's side!!

Elder Jeffrey R Holland
All times will be challenging, but the Lord will be with us all all times. Its good for us to remember those who have had tough challenges and risen above it. The early saints had much determination and courage. What we see is faith in God and this marvelous work. Faith is the first abiding principle, to go forth in this work. The fundamental force is faith that this is the kingdom of God on Earth. This is the work of God and we need to give the best of our strength to this great cause. Build your family and see that faith is strong there!!!

Pres. Boyd K Packer
When we are called, we should serve well. From now on, its going to be tougher. In some way alot more harder than what the early pioneers had to go through. Our Father is someone we can always call on and depend on. He is on OUR side, but it ALL depends on us. The adversary only does what we let him do. We make our own choices. We have to be the ones to have that self control, to make the choice to leave evil our of our lives. since we are surrounded by it. We are children of God. We are in charge of our minds, but it can be challenging to keep our course straight. If we are obedient, the Lord will strengthen us throughout this journey of life. When we are faltering, there is always someone there to lift us up when we fall. The things we are taught in the Church can help us eliminate the negative experiences in our lives. The standard and goals that we set for in our lives, is a pattern we shall live for the rest of Eternity. We will be protected and guided and looked after!!!
