BYU Game!! 55-7

I was so thrilled to be able to go to the game today, especially after BYU's bye week and not seeing them play last week. The day was nice and warm, and just perfect for today's game. It started out with two touchdowns in the first qtr, three td and a field goal in the second, two in the third, and a field goal in the last quarter, leaving the score to be BYU 55 and UNLV 7. The team today was unified in their efforts, and worked together and it was great to see it all come together especially after all the struggles so far this season. Looking forward to the rest of the season!!! Just love my boys in blue!!! You did great today!!!

Living A Balanced Life In Christ

Today in Sacrament Meeting, my roommate and friend Katie, spoke and gave a amazing talk on Living a balanced life:

We need to learn to balance our lives, which takes planning and effort, our main goals is to gain immortality and eternal life. Christ is there to help us. Here is a scripture on which we can be a standard for helping us living a balanced life.

"Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;" (Doctrine And Covenants 88:119)

1. FAITH- We need to have faith in Christ and in the Plan of Salvation-because everything that is righteous in our lives is worth it.
2. HOUSE OF PRAYER-Prayer needs to play a big role in our lives. "Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever. Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day. "  (Alma 37:36-37) We need to counsel with the Lord daily and often, and when He counsels us we shall never be led astray, and we will feel a comforting peace.
3 HOUSE OF FASTING- Fasting can work in our lives and the Lord will bless us when we fast.
4. HOUSE OF ORDER-"And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength.  And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order."(Mosiah 4:27) We need to balance each aspect of our lives, too much or too little can be harmful to us. We need to get to know those that are living close to us, to let them know that they are loved.  " Where can I turn for peace? Where is my solace When other sources cease to make me whole? When with a wounded heart, anger, or malice. I draw myself apart, searching my soul? Where, when my aching grows, Where, when I languish, Where, in my need to know, where can I run? Where is the quiet hand to calm my anguish? Who can understand? He, only one. He answers privately, Reaches my reaching In my Gethsemane, Savior and Friend. Gentle the peace he find for my beseeching. Constant he is and kind, Love without end."(Hymn "Where Can I Turn For Peace) He is the constant guide and friend, and we can turn to Christ.

2nd Speaker-Richard Anderson:

We need to prioritize our lives so that we many serve the Lord. Christ needs to be first in our lives. Everything we do in this life should be for the betterment of the kingdom. If we stumble, the Atonement is there to lift us up. Love is the center of all, its the healing bond, its a source of power and warms our lives. What we love determines what we seek. Christ will support us in all righteous endeavors that we do. We have a partner (Christ) in all things, put your trust in your Heavenly Father, and we will then find peace. Be wise in your choices. We need to find time to serve one another. Focus on people and principles. We need to know our Brothers and Sisters. Lets catch each other doing things right!!

Book Of The Week

Each week I will be doing a weekly feature of a Book that has truly inspired me in my life and why!!!

So This is My Choice For The Month
Why Do I Love This Book
Well one thing that I love about this book, is that it always inspires, and helps you take on a beautiful journey to come closer to Christ, more than you ever will before. There are 21 sections that talk about a aspect that Christ has taught. For example in the First Day: Come And See which talks about if you want a closer relationship with the Savior than Come and See Christ more fully. This is such a beautiful book with the most awe inspiring art from Simon Dewey, that will definitely shed a tear or two, and take you throughout the scriptures that will delight and bring you such  joy. Definitely a book I would recommend to anyone searching for a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. So COME AND SEE!!!!

Regional Stake Conference

I had the opportunity to attend the Regional Stake Conference live at the Marriot Center on BYU Campus. It was such a great conference and I loved being able to listen to these amazing speakers and to be surround by Young Adults my age, there was such a unity and the feeling of the Spirit flowed throughout the room.

Our first speaker was Steven F Snow:
The need for us to Remember is vital for us to progress throughout Eternity. Throughout the Book of Mormon we see examples of the need to remember. We also have monuments to help us remember that which is most important Such as Seagulls, Pioneers, ect. We are also required to do certain things to remember the Lord in our lives such as scripture study, prayer, attending the temple, partaking of the sacrament. We must have our own spiritual awakening to strengthen our testimonies. We need to sustain our spiritual strength. In Alma 5:26 "And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?"   Our testimonies must be constantly fed through spiritual experiences to remember. Also we need to constantly renew our testimonies. The Holy Ghost can manifest to us what we should do. The Spirit helps us to become sanctified, these promptings can help us grow and progress. Let us remember the sacrifices of those that have sown us the way.

Julie B Beck-Relief Society General President:
We're doing better than we think we are. We also aren't doing as well as we could be doing. If we were to call upon our faith we would do better. This kind of faith can cause miracles and change. The Spirit is the key in knowing the mind and will of our Heavenly Father. We don't need to be discouraged or fearful when we trust in our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. If we prioritize correctly, than we will be aligned with the Lord, we can have full confidence in His promises. We wanted this mortal experience, so we need to make the best of that choice of fighting on our Lord's side!!

Elder Jeffrey R Holland
All times will be challenging, but the Lord will be with us all all times. Its good for us to remember those who have had tough challenges and risen above it. The early saints had much determination and courage. What we see is faith in God and this marvelous work. Faith is the first abiding principle, to go forth in this work. The fundamental force is faith that this is the kingdom of God on Earth. This is the work of God and we need to give the best of our strength to this great cause. Build your family and see that faith is strong there!!!

Pres. Boyd K Packer
When we are called, we should serve well. From now on, its going to be tougher. In some way alot more harder than what the early pioneers had to go through. Our Father is someone we can always call on and depend on. He is on OUR side, but it ALL depends on us. The adversary only does what we let him do. We make our own choices. We have to be the ones to have that self control, to make the choice to leave evil our of our lives. since we are surrounded by it. We are children of God. We are in charge of our minds, but it can be challenging to keep our course straight. If we are obedient, the Lord will strengthen us throughout this journey of life. When we are faltering, there is always someone there to lift us up when we fall. The things we are taught in the Church can help us eliminate the negative experiences in our lives. The standard and goals that we set for in our lives, is a pattern we shall live for the rest of Eternity. We will be protected and guided and looked after!!!

Canada Trip

Well I just got back from our family vacation in Canada!!! HOOYAH!!!

This is up at Parker Idaho on our way up north, what do you think of my new haircut? :), Just putting flowers on the graves and excited for our trip and to see family!

This was our first day and we decided to go to Waterton National Park (which for you Americans, thats the Canadian side of Glacier National Park) and we saw 3-4 bears, pretty cool, we were told they are pretty frequently seen this summer!!!

This is at the Cameron Lake, which is very beautiful, and is manditory if you are going to Waterton!!! This summer they have had quite a bit of rain so it was pretty high this year so we couldn't walk along the edge of it, like we usually can. But it is always good to see!

Here is my mom, Aunt LaRee, and Me of course looking over this bridge at the lake, about to do a little hike!!! Fun stuff!

Along our little hike, we saw this deer eating and looking at us as well, the boys loved it ( my brother Spencer, Justice and Mason -my two adorable cousins!

Here is my wee brother walking along enjoying the hike, (which apparently he loves them) Don't worry there were pics of me along this hike just not on my camera, so once I get hold of the pictures from my Dad's camera I will put them on here, so be watchful!!!

Here we are in Vulcan, Canada, "Beam me up Scotty" (LOL) As you can see there is Spencer, Dad, Me, Mom, and Danny boy. We had such fun at this place, just like we do every tiime we come!!!! This was a fun day, we first headed to Vulcan, then to Nanton to see the Train Gardens, and the to Calgary to see Darin and Jeff, his wife Christy and their cute son Hunter!!! We even played a fun game in the park for a while with Jeff later that evening, which was a blast!!!! Fun day apart from the crazy mosquitos!!!! I think I had forgotten how crazy they can get!!!

Here is me and cute Maddie- isnt she the most adorable seven year old? We went to Waterton a second time, on our last day, spending it with cousins!!!

Here is Daniel, Me, Maddie, Justice, Mason, Spencer and my dad, and in the next pic will be all of us with my mom!!

Maddie and I  looking over the Cameron Falls, so beautiful!!! It was also such a great day!

My Mom and I overlooking the falls!!!

My Dad and I overlooking the lake, I just loved being there, "magnifique"

Here is my mom and I on our way home from Canada, and taking the scenic route as you will see in the rest of the pictures.
