Memories are important to us as human beings. They help us to know where we have been, what we have done, how we have grown and changed through the years. They help us to make meaning of our lives and our relationships. They help us to know what our deeply held values are. Memories are important.

Christmas Spirit
As Christmas draws closer, and we are reminded of the true meaning of Christmas, we look to the Savior, Jesus Christ who was the greatest gift of all. Back in Bethlehem a Star shone brightly through the night, that Jesus Christ was Born. It shone brightly to the kings and the shepherds and their sheep. It still shines for us today. Jesus Christ is the star shining for us. He is the light that shines when the night comes. As it says in Mosiah 2: 17 " When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God," So as we remember His birth and his great sacrifice, let us serve others and forget ourselves. Let us be a helping hand to those who desperately need it. Let us by the Lord's instruments and be guided by the Holy Ghost, so that we may remember the true meaning of Christmas, and to He who loved us all so much that he gave the greatest gift of all. Let us remember him who gave us life, Eternal Life.

Concerto
I had the opportunity to go to the Neil Diamond Concert that was in Salt Lake City Last night. It was amazing. Neil Diamond is great with the audience and there are lots of young people my age that think he is what old people listen to. It isnt true, they are just close minded, there were people from little kids to teens to young adults, to middle aged and then the older ones. Most of the time we were clapping and dancing. It was such a fun concert though, and he is getting older so if he ever happens to come to Salt Lake again then I will definetly go again, because I had so much fun with my whole family there as well. He has a great personality and his band is pretty awesome. Also a few more months ago there was a hurricane that hit Houston and they went over there, and they went to this community about 10 miles south of Houston and what had been 300 homes was all flattened out, and people were living in their cars or tents. So all the money he makes from the souvenirs and things goes to building them homes. I really thought that was an awesome thing that he is doing. If I had money I would have boughten some things. But last night was amazing and all those who have been close minded about Neil Diamond needs to go to one of his concerts and I have no doubt in my mind that they will change their opinion.

How we can give our lives memories
Sometimes in our day to day living we dont realize how much memories we have. Sometimes its just saying "Hi" to a friend, or going to lunch with someone that needs a person to talk to, or a day where family is all that matters, or a time when you go through struggles and dont know how to live through that struggle but knowing that there are people that care. I have realized that making memories and recording them helps us remember our memories and keeps them alive. As I am doing, and as all of us need to be doing, is making each moment count, because we only live once. Time flies, and sometimes we dont realize how much the people around us matter to us, or how nature astounds us, or how God inspires us. I have realized that as we make sure that every memory matters, that we will become closer to those that we call 'Loved Ones'. May we all share in the joys of living and make the moments in our lives count forever and ever.
